“Faith” was placed on trial today
“Fact” was the “crusading” prosecuting D.A.
Faith took the stand both defiant yet aloof
Fact demanded the defendant provide an iota of “truth”
Faith replied truth was blessed “belief”
Fact countered he needed something concrete
Faith read three lines of scripture then fell on the floor
Fact knew his fate when the jury cried…no more!
Faith set the decorum with his “Doctrinal Diction”
Fact concluded his statements with a reminder of “Fiction”
Faith was set free by a jury of his peers
Fact was left to confront our superstitious fears
