Water's Edge

Love’s waves oft’ break on sullied, craggy shores
Yet love, like water is purifying
Water to cleanse both the body and floor
Inamorato’s tears…mystifying
Foolish actions spoken by the foolish
If so I the fool doth regret words said
Forgive folly’s pawn for sounding ghoulish
Before I ‘twould hurt thee please find me dead
When playing my keys…the harmony sour
Recall my virtuoso…you are queen
My most precious notes, reside in our hour
Our glorious duet…my time serene
An aging, ailing man oft’ makes mistakes
Can an angel acquit me…for God’s sakes?
